Recycling, Recovery and Inert Landfill

Breedon is permitted by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency to accept inert waste from construction, excavation and civil engineering projects across Greater Belfast, operating two inert landfill sites in Northern Ireland to support this service.

The facilities at Blackmountain and Macosquin Quarries are fully authorised by the Agency and together have the capacity to accept up to 1.4 million tonnes of inert waste each year, providing reliable and compliant waste management solutions for a wide range of projects.

Service Overview


Our onsite management teams and weighbridge software provide customers with the reassurance that their waste is being disposed of in accordance with the Controlled Waste Duty of Care Regulations (Northern Ireland).

As part of our company wide proactive approach to sustainability and the circular economy we can provide customers with the option to recycle various inert waste streams at both inert landfill facilities and our Temple and Cam Quarries.
