Get in touch about Agricultural Concrete

Product Overview

Breedon Agricrete™ is designed with an advanced concrete mix that combines high‑performance admixtures and hard‑wearing aggregates to deliver superior resistance to the harsh chemicals commonly found in agricultural settings, from animal waste and silage effluent to fertilisers and cleaning agents.

Designed to withstand constant moisture, freeze–thaw cycles and the heavy loads of machinery and livestock, Breedon Agricrete™ offers a durable, low‑maintenance and long‑lasting solution for even the toughest farm environments.

Breedon Agricrete™ is typically laid in excess of 100mm depth and can be placed by conventional skip, pump or direct placement methods. Full compaction will be achieved by the correct application of standard vibrating equipment. The use of a curing membrane is required where applicable and curing should begin immediately after the concrete has been placed and finished.

Why Use Breedon Agricrete™ Concrete

Improved chemical resistance
Formulated to resist aggressive chemicals including silage acids, fertilisers, animal waste, and cleaning agents, reducing the need for early repairs.

Enhanced cleanability
Supports hygiene compliance, reducing the risk of disease.

Increased load-bearing capacity
Essential for areas that need to support heavy traffic such as machinery, livestock, and the storage of heavy materials.

Moisture and freeze-thaw resistance
Our Breedon Agricrete™ Pave is engineered to withstand freeze-thaw cycles to prevent surface damage and maintain structural integrity.

FAQs

Breedon Agricrete™ is specifically designed to provide superior strength, durability, and long‑term performance in demanding agricultural environments.

Its advanced formulation featuring specially selected admixtures and hard‑wearing aggregates provide enhanced resistance to heavy machinery, livestock traffic, chemical exposure, and harsh weather conditions.

Designed for intensive farm use, Breedon Agricrete™ delivers reliable performance across a wide range of agricultural applications, including silage pits, animal housing, feed passages, farmyard roads, and general yard surfaces.

Our Breedon Agricrete™ concrete is designed to be smooth and easy to clean, helping to maintain strict hygiene standards in agricultural environments.

It is quick to wash and easy to disinfect, reducing the risk of bacteria and disease spread, supporting healthier and safer environments for livestock.

Yes. While the upfront cost of specialist agricultural concrete can be higher than standard mixes, it offers greater long‑term value. Designed to withstand heavy machinery, livestock traffic, chemicals, and harsh farmyard conditions, it requires far less maintenance and delivers decades of reliable performance. In comparison, standard concrete can deteriorate more quickly when exposed to the demanding agricultural conditions.

Structural fibres can also be added to the mix in place of traditional crack‑control mesh. Fibre‑reinforced agricultural concrete reduces installation labour, improves resistance to cracking, and helps extend the lifespan of your farmyard surfaces.

Our Breedon Agricrete™ concrete mixes are designed with a strength range of 35N/mm² to 45N/mm², depending on the application.

We can tailor mix designs to meet your specific strength requirements and the team will be happy to work with you to deliver a suitable solution for your application.

Our Breedon Agricrete™ concretes cure at a similar rate to standard concrete mixes.

It is important not to traffic any heavy weight plant or machinery on the concrete until it has reached full maturity. The use of a curing membrane is required where applicable and curing should begin immediately after the concrete has been placed and finished.

If you require a faster setting concrete, Breedon Rapidcrete™ may be a suitable solution. Please speak to the team for support.
