Almost all of our range is produced from crushed, angular aggregate and therefore, when passed with a roller or vibrating plate the stone will interlock providing stability and minimal movement of aggregate pieces.
No, for all driveways, car parks and footpath purposes, we would recommend a foundation of MOT Type I Sub Base is installed and the chosen Decorative Aggregate is laid directly onto the Sub Base. If a weed suppressant membrane is required this should be installed beneath the Sub Base layer. For borders and similar landscaping designs where there is no footfall or vehicular traffic, the chosen product can be laid directly onto the weed suppressant membrane if desired.
For car parks and driveways the optimum installation depth is 40-50mm.
Self-binding gravel and decorative aggregates are available to buy as loose tipped loads and 800kg bulk bags.
Loose bulk deliveries are transported on a wide range of Breedon fleet vehicles from a four or eight-wheeler rigid tipper through to larger loads on articulated tipper vehicles.
Bulk bagged deliveries are transported on a kerbside tail-lift lorry or a crane off load vehicle depending on quantity ordered and site access.
