Aggregates are raw materials used in construction such as sand, gravel and crushed stone. They are also used as essential constituents in the production of concrete, asphalt and other materials such as blocks or bricks.

Aggregates are usually divided into two categories – primary and recycled aggregates. Primary aggregates are sourced directly from the ground and can also be called ‘virgin aggregates’ whereas recycled aggregates are made from reprocessing materials that have already been used. We also have offerings for decorative aggregates and specialist aggregates.

Aggregate can come in different sizes for different applications. Fine aggregates (0-4mm) can be used in things like mortar or plaster, coarse aggregates (4-40mm in things such as asphalt, drainage systems and concrete) whereas large aggregates (40mm and above) are used for bulk fill.

The right aggregate will depend on the project type you are undertaking. If you need assistance, please give our office a call and they will be able to advise you further.

We have a material calculator which you can use to calculate approximate tonnage. For more information, please call your local office who can help.

Yes, we do offer collections. For information, please give the office a call who will be best placed to advise you.

The minimum collection amount will differ between the different plants, so please contact your local office who can advise. If you are looking for smaller tonnages but need them delivered, you may want to look at our bagged aggregate offerings.
