Self-compacting Concrete

BreedonFlow® Floor-X is a lower carbon, general-duty self-compacting concrete that provides a cost-effective concrete solution for domestic floors. BreedonFlow® Floor-X can be designed to meet project strength requirements.

BreedonFlow® Foundation is a self-compacting concrete mix, suitable for a wide range of foundation work. BreedonFlow® Foundation can be designed to meet specific project strength requirements.

BreedonFlow® Precast is a high performance self-compacting concrete mix designed for ease of placement within intricate formwork structure. BreedonFlow® Precast is a bespoke concrete solution designed to meet specific project requirements. 

Common applications include:

• Bespoke finishes
• All types of precast construction

• Reduced energy requirements and plant maintenance due to less spillage and waste

We can incorporate bespoke admixtures into BreedonFlow® Precast to lower consistence retention times and achieve faster strength gain to enable earlier lifting from moulds. 

Macro, micro and steel fibres can be incorporated into our range of BreedonFlow® self-compacting concretes to replace crack control mesh, provide protection against shrinkage cracking and deliver added surface durability. 

Common applications: Micro, Macro and Steel fibre reinforced concrete can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Specifications: Designed to meet engineering specifications, fibres can be tailored to suit specific conditions and performance requirements.

Micro fibres: can be incorporated into any of our concrete mix designs to enhance early-age performance, primarily by controlling plastic shrinkage cracking and improving overall durability.

Macro synthetic fibres: can be added to enhance the concrete’s mechanical performance, particularly its post-crack strength and are resistant to corrosion.

These fibres are primarily used as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcement, such as crack control mesh, especially in applications where ease of placement, speed of construction, and effective crack control are key considerations.

Steel fibres: can be incorporated to significantly improve mechanical performance. Acting as a form of reinforcement, the fibres bridge cracks and absorb stress -particularly after cracking. For applications requiring high structural performance, improved load-bearing capacity, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, and crack control, steel fibres are a highly effective solution.

Finishing and placing: The use of a curing membrane is required where applicable and curing should begin immediately after the concrete has been placed and finished. Curing is essential and excessive drying rates must be avoided within the first 24 hours.

BreedonFlow® Gypscreed is a high-performance screed made from a unique blend of quality binder, selected sands, water and additives. It has designed to deliver a smooth, level surface suitable for most interior applications where a floor covering will be applied. 

BreedonFlow® Gypscreed is only available through approved installers to guarantee a consistently high-quality finish is delivered.

• Residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and educational buildings
• Bonded and un-bonded construction
• Timber frame structures 
• Concrete and steel frame structures
• Where electric or wet underfloor heating systems are being incorporated

Wet density typically 2300kg/m3 and dry density approximately 2200kg/m3.

BreedonFlow® Cemscreed is a low-shrink, free-flowing cementitious screed, designed to provide a smooth, level surface prior to the application of the desired floor finish. It is suitable for floating, bonded and unbonded flooring systems, including most underfloor heating systems and all residential and commercial floors carrying pedestrian traffic as described within BS8204.

BreedonFlow® Cemscreed is exclusively installed by approved installers to ensure a high-quality and consistent finish.

Common applications include:

• Residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and educational buildings
• Bonded and un-bonded construction
• Timber frame structures 
• Concrete and steel frame structures
• Where electric or wet underfloor heating systems are being incorporated

Features and benefits: 

• Allows for thinner application compared with traditional screeds
• Underfloor heating systems can be covered with a minimum depth of just 30mm
• Capable of accepting foot traffic within 48 hours of installation
• Suitable for use in future wet‑room areas such as bathrooms and showers
• Delivers improved thermal performance over conventional screeds
• Compatible with most floor coverings after only 21 days
• Can be force‑dried from as early as 7 days
