FAQs

A semi-dry sand cement screed is a floor screed made by mixing cement and sharp sand (usually at a ratio of 1:3 to 1:4) with just enough water to create a moist, crumbly consistency. It is applied over a concrete base to create a smooth, level surface for floor finishes like tiles, vinyl, or carpet

A semi-dry mix is easier to compact, level, and finish, especially in interior environments. It reduces the risk of shrinkage and cracking, provides better surface flatness, and allows for precise formation of falls or slopes where needed (e.g. in wet rooms).

Semi-dry sand cement screeds provide good compressive strength when properly mixed and cured. They are easier to apply and finish by hand or with tools like a straightedge or trowel.

They can be used over insulation layers (floating screeds), underfloor heating, or bonded to a concrete slab. Lower water content gives better control during placement and reduces drying time compared to wet mixes.

A flowing anhydrite binder screed is a type of liquid floor screed made from anhydrite (calcium sulfate) binder, sand, and water. It has a fluid consistency that allows it to self-level easily and fill gaps without the need for manual compaction, making it faster and more efficient to apply than traditional sand/cement screeds.

It is commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, especially where underfloor heating is installed. The flowing nature of the screed allows it to fully encapsulate heating pipes, ensuring excellent thermal conductivity. It’s ideal for large floor areas due to its fast installation and smooth, level finish.

A flowing cementitious binder screed is a self-leveling liquid floor screed made from a cement-based binder, sand, water, and additives. Unlike traditional hand-applied screeds, this type has a fluid consistency that allows for pump application and creates a smooth, level surface with minimal manual effort

It is widely used in both residential and commercial buildings, especially where fast installation and drying times are important. It’s suitable for use over underfloor heating, in renovations, and in high-traffic areas, offering benefits like reduced shrinkage, crack resistance, and compatibility with a wide range of floor finishes.
