Get in touch about Asphalt Collection
Asphalt concrete for very thin layers (BBTM) is used on roads as a Surface course with a thickness of 20 to 30mm. The product is a blend of a high proportion of single size coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler and polymer modified binder.
When combined the end product is a gap graded mixture that derives strength from the coarse aggregate skeleton that is filled with the mortar of fine aggregate, filler and polymer modified binder.
Thin surfacing is manufactured in accordance with EN 13108-2.
Thin surfacing is manufactured with Polymer Modified Binder (PMB)
Thin surfacing provides a smooth appearance as the texture produced is negative i.e. below the surface.
The negative texture reduces tyre noise so is beneficial in sound reduction when compared with other Surface course materials.
Thin surfacing produces exceptional resistance to permanent deformation (wheel track rutting) due to the aggregate skeleton and polymer modified binder used in the design.
