Rob was appointed to the Board in March 2014 as Group Finance Director and took the position of Chief Executive Officer in April 2021.

Rob has over 25 years’ experience in the international building materials industry. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young and subsequently joined Hanson plc where he held a number of senior positions including Finance Director Brick Continental Europe, Finance Director Building Products UK and Chief Financial Officer Australia and Asia Pacific. Following the acquisition of Hanson plc by HeidelbergCement AG, Rob returned to the UK and joined Drax Group plc as Group Financial Controller, subsequently undertaking responsibilities as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions.  Rob has served on the Board as an executive director since his appointment, providing strong operational leadership. Rob’s extensive experience gives him a comprehensive understanding of the Group’s operational challenges and strategic opportunities.

James joined Breedon in January 2021 and was appointed to the Board in April 2021. Previously he was CFO of Tyman plc between 2010 and 2019, prior to which he was Director of Corporate Development. Earlier in his career, James worked in investment banking roles at Citi and HSBC, after qualifying as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young.  James brings extensive international experience encompassing strategy, operational efficiency, systems development, capital generation and allocation, mergers and acquisitions, and business integration. His expertise has played a key role in strengthening the Group’s balance sheet and supporting its long-term strategic objectives.

James is a Director of The Quoted Companies Alliance; is a Member of the Panel of Takeovers and Mergers; and Member of the Pre-Emption Group.

Caroline joined Breedon Group in May 2021 and appointed as Group People Director in October 2021, with a remit to take forward our People Plan in order to support the Group’s growth over the next five years. Caroline has over 30 years in senior HR roles across a variety of industries, including senior positions with Spire Healthcare PLC, HBS Business Services, and British Airways. Prior to joining Breedon she was People Director at the telecoms start-up company Zzoomm.

James joined Breedon Group in January 2022 as Group General Counsel. He is responsible for, amongst other things, legal and regulatory compliance, legal affairs, insurance and risk management, corporate governance, and has a leading role in the M&A team. Prior to joining Breedon, James was General Counsel at Aggregate Industries, a subsidiary of Swiss cement group Holcim. He has also held other senior roles at Pinsent Masons LLP, National Grid plc and BG Group plc.

James is a practising barrister, called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn, and is a CEDR accredited mediator.

James joined Breedon in March 2021 as Managing Director of the Group’s GB Surfacing Solutions division and was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer in July 2025. He joined Breedon from Amey, where he most recently held the role of Managing Director of Highways and Waste Collections.

James has 30 years’ experience in the contracting and highway services industry, including senior positions with Mouchel and EM (Kier) Highway Services, where he led the strategic highways business. James was awarded an MBE in His Majesty’s Birthday Honours List 2025, for services to improving safety for highway workers.

Mike joined Breedon in 2018 as Managing Director of the Group's southern division, with operations extending from Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria to Greenhithe in Kent. He came to Breedon from Aggregate Industries, where he was Managing Director of the aggregates division. Prior to that, he held a series of leadership roles, including heading Concrete Products (which included the Bradstone brand), Ready-Mixed Concrete (including London Concrete), Asphalt and Contracting, and Major Projects, before being appointed Commercial Director of Aggregate Industries Europe.

Mike is now CEO of Breedon GB and also serves as a member of the Board of the Mineral Products Association.

Declan joined Lagan Group in 2015, initially working within the Brick division. He went on to serve as General Manager for Lagan Concrete before moving into the Cement business, where he held the positions of Plant Manager and Business Director.

With over 30 years of experience across all areas of the construction industry, Declan brings a wealth of knowledge built through a diverse and progressive career in the sector.

Declan is now CEO of Breedon Ireland.  

Andy is CEO of our US business and has over 29 years’ experience in the construction materials industry. Having previously worked for LafargeHolcim SA in Paris and was responsible for Lafarge’s worldwide performance.

Andy received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech in 1989.
