Product Overview & Why Use Breedon Generon Solar Roof Tiles

Breedon Generon is a smart way to power your home using solar energy without changing the look of your roof. These innovative roof tiles have solar technology built in so they blend in with the rest of your roof, and once installed they're barely visible to the naked eye.

Launched in 2024, Breedon Generon was created to offer a cleaner, more attractive alternative to solar panels. Each tile looks like a regular roof tile while generating renewable electricity from the sun.

The tiles are installed using normal roofing methods, making it easy for roofing professionals to fit them. A typical home can be powered using around 260 solar tiles, helping reduce energy bills and lower carbon emissions.

Designed to last, Breedon Generon tiles are built to handle all kinds of weather, from heavy rain to strong winds. They also come with a 20-year performance guarantee for peace of mind. A dedicated app allows you to track their energy generation in real time.

Visit the Breedon Generon website for further information.

FAQs

Generon is best fitted as part of a whole roof, so if you're building a new property or refurbishing an existing one as long as it has a minimum roof angle of 20˚ it should be easy to incorporate the system.

While the system will be more effective on a south-facing elevation, east or west are also suitable and they don't need sun everyday to generate sufficient electricity.

No. There is a bypass diode is each tile that prevents the whole system from going down. The faulty tile can be located either by testing each tile or using a drone with a thermal camera.

A roofing contractor can make all of the basic connections between the tiles with a qualified electrician making the final measurements, connecting the invertor and carrying our any necessary tasks.
