Product Overview

Breedon Foam™ is a high‑performance, lightweight, free‑flowing foamed concrete designed for construction, civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

Designed as a trench reinstatement solution, and meets the recommendations of the HAUC (Highway Authorities & Utilities Committee) legislation.

With its low density and enhanced flowability, Breedon Foam™ can be poured directly into excavations without the need for compaction. It naturally flows to the required level, reinstates lateral support to surrounding services and delivers a quick, clean backfill process. The surface can be easily struck off, and in most highway applications, a wearing course can be applied within 24 hours.

Every mix is developed to project specification, with strength and density tailored to meet the performance requirements of the final application.

Why Use Breedon Foam Concrete

Reduced labour time
Breedon Foam™ is easy to place due to its increased flowability, reducing labour time on site.

Enhanced thermal properties
Breedon Foam™ provides enhanced thermal insulation compared to standard concrete.

Improved health and safety
With no need for vibration or compaction equipment, Breedon Foam™ reduces the risk of vibration-related conditions.

Coated surfacing can typically be applied within 24 hours

Applications

FAQs

Foamed concrete, such as Breedon Foam™, is much lighter than standard concrete mixes, making it ideal for when you need to reduce the load on structures such as rooftops, bridge embankments, or filling voids where weight is a concern.

Additionally, foamed concrete has excellent thermal and sound insulation properties due to its air-filled cellular structure.

Breedon Foam™ has a typical density of 1,750kg/m³ - 1,850kg/m³, compared to a standard concrete density of around 2,400kg/m³.

No. We do not recommend using Breedon Foam™ for any structural building applications.

It has been specifically designed for void fill purposes. Our standard Breedon Foam™ strength is typically between 2–4 N/mm², although higher strengths can be produced upon request.
