Product Overview

Breedon Lightweight Blocks are designed for maximum versatility in construction. Manufactured in a solid format, they are available in a range of strengths and finishes, making them suitable for both structural and aesthetic applications.

Available in standard foundation, coursing and spacing formats, they offer a wide range of sizes and strength grades 7.3N/mm² and 10.4N/mm², and a typical net dry density of 1,400Kg/m3.

Manufactured to BS EN 771-3 standards, the blocks provide excellent thermal properties, sound insulation, and low air permeability, making them ideal for structural, acoustic, and energy-efficient construction.

Why Use Breedon Lightweight Concrete Blocks

With standard and paint-grade finishes and sustainable manufacturing practices, Breedon Lightweight Blocks deliver versatility, durability, and long-term performance for modern building projects.

1,100Kg/m3 & 850Kg/m3 block densities are available on request which have more specific applications.

FAQs

Lightweight concrete blocks are masonry units made from concrete that includes lightweight aggregates (like expanded clay, ash and pumise). This makes them significantly lighter than standard dense concrete blocks.

Breedon Lightweight Blocks are easier to handle and install, reducing labour fatigue and speeding up construction. They also provide improved thermal properties. Their lower weight puts less load on the structure, which is especially beneficial in multi-storey or refurbishment projects.

Yes — many lightweight blocks meet structural requirements. They also offer better thermal and sound insulation, making them ideal for internal walls, partitions, and non-load-bearing applications.
